Dr.Caroline Burgess Clifford has been a senior analysis associate and lecturer at the EMS Energy Institute and in the John and Willie Leone Department of Energy and Mineral Engineering (EME) at Penn State. She is at present a senior lecturer and analysis affiliate in the Division of Agricultural and Biological Engineering in the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences. Her expertise, each technical and managerial, is in the realm of coal and biomass conversion into liquid fuels and worth-added products. Dr. Clifford has done analysis for the last 20 years focused on direct lignin-to-liquids and coal-to-liquids to make jet gasoline. She has taught programs related to biofuel processing and energy conversion by the EME division and has taught a course in Agricultural and Biological Engineering associated to power in biorenewables.
Dr. Clifford obtained her BS in Chemical Engineering at Texas A&M College. Dr. Clifford acquired her MS and PhD at PSU in Gasoline Science. She has lived in multiple cities within the US and in Africa (as a child) and in Australia (for a postdoctoral place).
On a personal degree, Dr. Clifford shares her dwelling in State Faculty with two schnauzer/poodle mixes, a schnoodle!
